Mental health matters - My top tips to keep you smiling
Updated: Aug 2, 2019
1) Practice self care every day.
By this I mean something for you and you only. It can't be a 'should' either. "I should go to the gym". Shoulds aren't helpful in this situation because it's not helping your brain. Go for a walk if that's your jam, have a bath or watch your favourite TV show. Whatever will make you smile.
Sometimes life is really overwhelming. And that's okay. Meditation allows our minds to give us the space to process our day in a calm environment. Check out my up coming blog on how to meditate if you need guidance.
What is this teaching me? There is a lesson behind every event. Learn and grow and find what you can take from it. One of my other favourite techniques are gratitude lists. It takes at least 30 days for our brain to create new neural pathways. Commit to writing what you are grateful for at the beginning and end of each day. Committing to this will help to enable your brain to always find the good.
